Supreme Court Judge Clarence Thomas rejected the idea of putting pressure on the court for the desired results at a court conference on Friday.
Thomas spoke at the 11th District Atlanta Judicial Conference this week, where he discussed an expired draft Supreme Court opinion for the first time. The opinion will repeal Rowe against Wade if it is official, which will cause panic among Democrats and protests against the court.
“We cannot be an institution that can be harassed to give you exactly the results you want. The events of earlier this week are a symptom of that,” Thomas said, according to reports.

However, Thomas did not dwell on the subject and mentioned only in passing the ongoing scandal in the Supreme Court.

Thomas was hospitalized in Washington, D.C., with “flu-like symptoms” for a week due to a disease that the Supreme Court said was not related to the coronavirus. The 73-year-old missed an entire week of oral argument before taking part in the remote next week.
Thomas has served on the Supreme Court since 1991, after being nominated by former President George W. Bush to succeed Targud Marshall, the nation’s first black judge.

Chief Justice John Roberts spoke at the same conference on Thursday, calling the leak “absolutely appalling.” The judge then dismissed any question that the leak would affect the Supreme Court’s final decision.
“The leak of such information is absolutely appalling,” Roberts said. “If the person behind him thinks it’s going to affect our work, it’s just stupid.”
