Thomas Tuchel insisted that the Chelsea team only needed a facelift for next season before taking over the United team, which Ralph Rangnik believes requires “open heart surgery”.

Talisman defender Antonio Rudiger will leave for Real Madrid with a free transfer this summer, while his colleague central defender Andreas Christensen will also go to Barcelona.
Asked what Chelsea needed this summer in light of Rangnik’s comments on heart surgery, Tuhel replied: “Cosmetic surgery. I would be less worried if we still had the same property, if we could rely on our structure.
“As this is also in question, we are not worried, but we are aware of the danger that the situation may be a little more complicated.
“And it can be complicated enough if you lose a player like Tony and maybe lose another player like Andreas with that quality, both for free.
“Nowadays in football it is demanding enough to lose such qualities, as in the back three lose two key players for free.
“It can be demanding enough, even if everything else stays in place. So with the summer in question, it can be a very, very demanding summer.
“I don’t know if surgery is the right term for it, but I just want to be positive about it and stick to the things we can influence.”
Chelsea are hoping to get Rhys James and Antonio Rudiger back after an injury.
