Derry police arrested six men after clashes with gas bombs in the city this afternoon.
A video circulating on social media shows young people throwing rockets at Land Rovers police in the Lone Moor Road City Cemetery.
This is followed by a republican parade in honor of the Easter Uprising of 1916, which took place in the city on Easter Monday.
The parade was linked to the Saoradh group, which is accused of links to the New IRA.
The parade committee ruled that paramilitary-style clothing was not worn during the procession.
Five men aged 29, 38, 40, 50 and 54 were arrested under the Terrorism Act. A sixth 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of hooliganism.
Police confirmed that all six men remain in custody Monday night. Officers also seized a number of vehicles, uniforms for alleged terrorists and petrol bombs.
The commander of the Derry and Strabein area, Chief Superintendent Ryan Henderson, said: “Earlier today, police attended an informed parade in the city. Based on initial observations, the participants in the parade were assessed as potentially committed crimes.
“The police closely monitored the event and, in what was considered appropriate, took action to provide evidence and arrest.
“While they were doing this, the police were attacked by petrol bombs and masonry.
“Our officers showed great courage and professionalism in a situation that was still obviously dangerous. Fortunately, none of our officers or members of the public were injured as a result of this reckless and criminal behavior. Our investigations will continue in the coming days and weeks to bring the perpetrators to justice. “
The parade coincides with the third anniversary of the murder of journalist Lyra McKee.
Ms McKee, a journalist, died after being hit by a bullet during the riots in the Kregan area of Londonderry on April 18, 2019.
Meanwhile, Lyra’s family expressed disgust at the Republican Easter parade.
Ms McKee’s partner told Belfast Live that the third anniversary of her death was the first time family and friends had mourned her together.
Friends and family gathered in Derry and Belfast on Monday for the vigil to celebrate Lyra’s anniversary.
