Donald Trump called on the Queen to deprive Prince Harry and Megan Markle of their royal titles.
The former US president said he thought the Duke of Sussex was “so disrespectful” to the UK and described it as “uncomfortable”.
In an upcoming interview with Pierce Morgan, whose transcript was published by The Sun, Mr Trump was asked if he thought the Queen should remove the couple’s titles.
He replied, “I would. The only thing I don’t agree with about the queen, probably one of the only things that ever happened, is that I think she should have said, “If that’s your choice, fine.”
“But you don’t have titles anymore,” you know, and honestly, don’t go where you are just because her loyalty is to the country.
“She’s said that many times. Her loyalty is to the country. And I think he was so disrespectful to the country, and that’s a great country.”
Mr Trump mentioned when he had met the Queen before and said they understood each other well.
The 75-year-old man also accused the duke of being “the most bullied man in the world” and doubted what would happen when, in the end, “there was enough to rule him”.
