A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder after being stabbed twice in Manchester.
Police say 24-year-old Neri Morse has been pronounced dead at the scene after the incident on Pollard Street, in the Ancots area around 6.30pm on Wednesday.
Another man, in his 20s, was taken to hospital and treated for leg injuries.
Rushon Brown of Higher Ardwick is now charged with murder, assault under Section 18 and possession of an object with blades and must appear in court.
The second 23-year-old man remains in police custody on suspicion of murder.
Detective Chief Wes Knights of the Greater Manchester Police Incident Team said: “We have made rapid progress in investigating Neri’s death, including two arrests and a charge of murder.
“But the investigation is still very active, as the team continues to pursue all lines of investigation and we will talk to everyone involved in this incident.
“We will ask all witnesses, including those on the street and in vehicles in the area at the time of the incident, to provide any information.
“No matter how insignificant this information may seem, it can be crucial in a complex investigation like this, and my team of detectives will investigate all the information provided.
“There are a number of easy ways to contact the police and provide information, including uploading video surveillance and other media to our special public portal for major incidents.
Brown is due to appear in the Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
