Downtown Chicago shooting: 2 men shot dead on N Wabash Avenue near the Chicago Theater, police said

CHICAGO (WLS) – Two people were injured after a shooting at Loop Sunday in Chicago.

A 27-year-old man and a 55-year-old man were on an alley in the 100th block of N Wabash Avenue near the Chicago Theater just before 5 p.m., when they were shot by an unknown offender, according to Chicago police.

The 27-year-old man received a gunshot wound to his right arm and was transported to Northwestern Hospital in good condition. The 55-year-old man was shot in the ear and was also transported to Northwestern Hospital in good condition, police said.

No one has been detained, and Zone Three detectives are investigating.

Broadway in Chicago canceled Sunday’s performance of “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” after the shooting.

“All refunds and exchanges will be made at the original point of purchase of the cartridge and Broadway In Chicago will publish no later than tomorrow morning (Monday, May 2) on our website, by email and through social media how to get a replacement or refund of funds for the Evening Performance on May 1. No other Broadway productions in Chicago were affected. All Broadway performances in Chicago, including the Moulin Rouge! The musical will be performed on schedule from Tuesday, May 3, “said a statement from Broadway in Chicago.

This is at least the third shooting in downtown Chicago this weekend. Two women were shot dead, one was killed near the House of Blues in River North on Saturday; and a man was found shot dead at a hotel in Steeterville on Sunday morning.

So far this weekend, 29 people have been shot dead, seven dead in a shooting in Chicago.
