Edmonton Police are looking for a suspect after a man was stabbed while trying to stop the theft – Edmonton

Police are asking the public for advice as they try to track down a suspect in the knife attack in North Edmonton, where investigators believe the victim is a good Samaritan.

Police were called in for a gun attack on 126 and 152 Avenue shortly after 9:30 p.m. Thursday night. When they arrived at the scene, police said they had found a 34-year-old man who appeared to have received life-threatening injuries.

“The investigation revealed that the victim witnessed a theft nearby and tried to intervene and stop the two suspects – a man and a woman,” police said in a press release issued Friday.

A police spokesman told Global News that the victim was stabbed during the collision, after which the suspect fled the scene. They did not say whether the suspect also escaped or was in police custody.

Police said the victim was taken to hospital and in stable condition by late Friday afternoon.
