Ten Haag added that he will also not be afraid to face players with lower results when he takes on his first role in the Premier League.
“I will not change my view on coaching,” he said. “The material always determines how you play, but I set the requirements that come with it and the standards.
“I say who has what task and those who do not fulfill it will be told, no matter who it is. I do not make concessions in this regard.

“I definitely protect people from the outside. Internally, it can be different if someone has crossed the border. After all, this is a top sport. You have to be able to trust yourself, otherwise you will not achieve results.
“If my defensive attitude comes at the expense of myself, so be it. I am a manager, a leader, I do this in the interest of results.”
