A major road through Teeside was closed for more than 10 hours after a car chased by police collided with another vehicle.
Emergency services rushed to the A19 south near Middlesbrough after the incident, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning. Drivers were forced to take detours before the road was reopened at around 10.50am.

What happened?
Cleveland police say they are chasing a black Audi in Middlesbrough.
The forces said the vehicle fell on the road in the wrong direction and collided with a Peugeot 208.
Where did the accident happen?
The collision occurred on the A19 south near Aklam, Middlesbrough.
The road was closed between the M66 junction for Middlesbrough and the A1130 near Tornaby.
He remained closed for more than 10 hours.
Why are the police chasing the car?
It is still unclear why the police are chasing the black Audi.
However, the driver of the Audi was detained on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving with drugs.

Were the emergency services present at the clash?
Yes. Police, firefighters, paramedics and a doctor arrived at the scene.
The Cleveland Fire Department said they cut one person out of a car and helped another person get out of a vehicle after being called to the scene at 12:33 p.m. They sent two firefighters from Stockton and one firefighter from Tornaby and left the area at 1.48am.
The Northeast Ambulance (NEAS) was called in the crash at 12.34am on Saturday morning. A spokesman said: “We sent a medical car, a doctor from the Great North Air Ambulance, four ambulance crews, a paramedic and two staff.

Is there anyone was injured in the collision?
Yes. The Northeast Ambulance (NEAS) said it had treated six patients and taken four to hospital.
A spokesman said: “They were a total of six patients and we took four to hospitals in the area for further treatment.”
Cleveland police said the driver of the Peugeot 208 was taken to hospital for treatment and their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The forces said a 39-year-old man who was a passenger in the Audi was also taken to hospital with life-threatening leg injuries.
Has anyone been arrested?
Yes. The 31-year-old driver of the Audi was detained on suspicion of dangerous driving and drug driving.
The driver is currently in police custody.
Three other men who were passengers in the car were detained in connection with the incident. They are 37, 34 and 22 years old.
