First photo of a man who died after being found wounded in Glasgow while cops investigate “attack”

A man who died after being found wounded in Glasgow has been named by police.

Craig Watson, 39, was found seriously injured at the Whitevale Gardens in Denniston shortly after midnight on Sunday morning, April 17.

Emergency services arrived on the scene, but the 39-year-old man was unfortunately pronounced dead on the spot.

His family has been notified of his tragic death and a report will be sent to the fiscal prosecutor’s office.

Police have treated Craig’s death as “unexplained”, but believe he may have been attacked after engaging in a “quarrel with a number of people”.

Anyone with information is urged to appear, with police asking several young people who were in the area before and after midnight to contact them.

Detective Chief Cameron Miller, Scotland’s Chief of Police Investigation Team, said: with several people in the Whitevale Gardens area shortly before he was found wounded.

“Whitevale Gardens is a residential area and I’m sure the locals would have seen or heard what happened and I would encourage them to go out if they haven’t already.

“From our investigation so far we know that in the area before and after midnight, Saturday night against Sunday morning, there were a number of young people. It is extremely important that these young people contact the police and provide all the details that can help us with the investigation.

“Information can be passed on to employees via 101, citing reference number 0126 of Sunday, April 17, 2022. Alternatively, details can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“We have also set up a website that gives members of the public access to a form to send information directly to the main investigation team. You can also share any videos or images you think may be appropriate. You can choose to remain anonymous when submitting information. “
