“Frightening accident” when a car crashed into a house in the East Lake with a one-year-old baby inside

Two men were arrested after a car hit a house in a “scary” accident. This comes after employees were called to an address in Dormouse Close, East Leake, around 12.18pm on Tuesday (April 19th).

It is alleged that the property was damaged by a car, which then set off. This caused significant damage to the property. Two men, aged 43 and 33, were arrested on suspicion of causing damage and dangerous driving. They remain in police custody.

A witness told Nottinghamshire Live: “I have never seen anything like this in my life.”

Decland Edwards, 20, was at the house at the time of the incident with his girlfriend and one-year-old baby. He said the damage to the toilet in his house had caused “most” of the lower floor to be covered with water.

Longhurst Group, which owns the property, has also been criticized for failing to reach the house quickly enough to renovate it.

However, a spokesman for the Longhurst Group said: “We found out about this incident in the early hours of Tuesday and immediately offered the client alternative accommodation,” the spokesman said.

“Usually we would expect the property to be secure after that. We are currently investigating why this did not happen and we would like to apologize to our client for the inconvenience.

“A member of our team was on site Tuesday morning to assess the situation and coordinate our response. We will continue to support our customer and ensure that the necessary repairs are completed as soon as possible. ”

No casualties were reported, the forces confirmed. Nottinghamshire Police Detective Sergeant Andrea Brown said: “It was a frightening incident that caused significant damage to a house. The investigation is ongoing and we are grateful to everyone who has spoken to us so far.

All witnesses who have not yet spoken to police officers have been asked to call 101, citing incident 6 of 19 April 2022.
