Disappointment is brewing in Shanghai as residents become increasingly irritated by weeks of draconian coronavirus blockades.
On Chinese social media on Saturday, users of the network struggled to share a six-minute video called “The Voice of April.”
The footage shows a panorama of the empty streets of the city, while the voices of locals appear, complaining about the shortage of food and medicine that plagues the metropolis.

However, the Netizens faced repulsion by the Chinese military from web censors who had been struggling to remove the video all morning. Some comments survived.
“I can only say that if you don’t even want to listen to a small amount of real voices, then it’s really hopeless,” said a concerned social media user.
The city is facing a brutal blockade in an attempt to stop the latest wave of coronavirus. Shanghai reported 12 new coronavirus deaths on Friday. The average age of the victims was 88 and no one was vaccinated.
