Gabriel Jesus has refused to be drawn to reports that he has decided to leave Manchester City this summer, as he has promised to be ready to help the team win the Premier League and the Champions League.
Jesus scored four goals in City’s win over Watford, which gave them four points ahead of Liverpool in the league ahead of Merseyside’s derby with Everton on Sunday. It was a great individual performance for the Brazilian, who woke up to reports that he wanted to leave City this summer.
However, Jesus told reporters after the match that his only focus at the moment is to be ready and focused to help City with their goals of winning silver in the Premier League and in Europe.

“It’s not time to think about it,” he said. “You expect me to say that, and it’s true. This is not the time to think about it, now is the best time of the season.
“I want to enjoy it, to focus on my teammates to fight for the Premier League. I have won with my teammates three times already, so I know how it feels and I want it again. We have a difficult match on Tuesday against Real Madrid, a difficult opponent. That’s my focus. “
However, Jesus discussed his playing time and preferred positions – two factors that are said to be behind his transfer position.
Regarding his playing time in Pep Guardiola’s rotation system, he said: “It’s not just me, the players. If you ask players to play, everyone wants to play. I’ve been playing a lot since I came here, I know what to expect, but I know we have a lot of good players who can play every game.
“Not just me, Riyadh, Raz [Sterling], Grillish, who arrives now, who sees how it is here. We have very good strikers and wings, everyone wants to play and it is a challenge to stay focused and when you get the chance, try to do your best.
“I will play like a straight [centra;] player, I can go there, forward, run everywhere and try to fight, get my ball back, attack. I think this is my quality. I play on the streets until I was 15, I arrive in Palmeiras at 15. I learn a lot, I play there. Sometimes I put videos that I run everywhere and that’s my quality.
“I am happy because I have the trust of the manager and the players. When it started, Riyadh started, Raz, Phil, Grillish, Bernardo forward, Gundo. We do our best. We have experience, I’m still young, but for the last five or six years I’ve been playing a little hard in big games.
“I know I can play [versus Real Madrid] but sometimes the manager tries another player and I try to concentrate when I have a chance. ”
