He was detained at Coweta County Jail, officials said.

On April 8, Grantville police responded to the shooting range shortly after 8 pm after a call that owners Tommy Richard Hawk Sr., Evelyn Hawk and their 18-year-old grandson Alexander Luke Hawk had been found dead in the family business.

At the time, police said the suspect, now identified as Muse, had left the scene with about 40 weapons, and the surveillance camera and recording device at the test site were taken from the scene at 514 Bohannon Road, police said.

Elizabeth Rawlins of Channel 2 spoke on the phone with Richard Hawk on Tuesday. Richard is an investigator from Coweta County and the first person at the scene to find the bodies of his parents and son.

The Hawk family issued the following statement:

We are encouraged and honored by the incredible efforts of our local law enforcement agencies, including the Grantville Police and Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the ATF and GBI. We learn from Chief Steve Whitlock that the current development of the murder suspect in custody has certainly been a team effort. We continue to pray for their teams during this tense time and we will continue to pray for the redemption of the perpetrator.

Thanks again to the City of Grantville and to the community at large for such an outpouring of love and support. It is so significant that so many people in our community value them as much as we do, and they have helped shine light into darkness.

Tommy, Evelyn and Luke Hawk were laid to rest, but we will certainly see them again.

TRENDS:

Muse’s arrest came a day after family members put the three victims on vacation.
