Royal ITV News editor Chris Ship explains the significance of Thursday’s visit
Harry and Megan secretly flew to the United Kingdom to visit the Queen and Prince Charles.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were on their way to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands and stopped by, according to their office, to see Harry’s father and grandmother in Windsor.
Prince Charles has just become the queen of the traditional royal service on Maundy Thursday.
Harry and Megan were spotted by some churchgoers heading to St. George’s Chapel for today’s service.
This is the first time Sussex has been together in the UK since leaving the royal family in March 2020.
And this is the first time Megan has seen the Queen and her father-in-law, Prince Charles, since an accusation of racism was leveled against an unnamed senior family member.

Prince Harry said when he announced he could not attend the Duke of Edinburgh Thanksgiving service that he would see his grandmother as soon as possible.
Harry and Megan will be on the VIP “yellow” carpet of the Invictus Games, which are being held in The Hague (yellow is the main color of the tournament).
Prince Harry is a founding partner of Invictus Games, creating it after his service in Afghanistan.
