Police confirmed that two men needed hospital treatment after being injured by two dogs in the Hartcliff area today.
Avon and Somerset police have released more information about the incident, which began around 10:50 a.m. this morning. Police say patrol officers were marked by two men on Bishport Avenue at the time and say they were injured by two dogs.
Police say officers, including armed officers, have been conducting “proportional investigations” in the Hartcliff area all afternoon to try to find the dogs, but the search has so far turned out to be negative.

Trained dog handlers remain in the area, but according to Avon and Somerset police, “other resources have resumed patrols.”
The two men who were injured went to hospital for treatment, but police want to reassure the public that no other reports of injuries to the two dogs have been received today.
Investigations are underway to identify dog owners and police are asking anyone with information to call 101 and give reference number 5222090677.
