High on Life has officially become the biggest Xbox Game Pass launch of 2022, the biggest third-party Game Pass launch ever, and the biggest single-player Game Pass launch of all time.
The news was shared on Xbox Wire, and it was confirmed that these stats were “measured in terms of engagement, based on the number of hours played in the first five days of release.”
High on Life is developed by Squanch Games, the studio founded by Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland. Roiland also appears in the game as the voice of Kenny the gun and more.
“This was our first time launching a game with Game Pass,” said Mike Fridley, Studio Director and COO of Squanch Games, “and we were blown away by the response from players who made us the most popular game on Game Pass now . When Squanch Games was first created, the goal was to make the games we want to play – and Game Pass helps us reach the players who also want to play those games.”
In our review of High on LIfe, we said that “not all of its jokes hit the mark, but with memorable boss fights, unique alternate abilities and exploration, and far scarier movies to watch than I expected, this wacky ride is definitely worth it you are the time.”
