“Honor of Life”; Derek Butler is stepping down after nearly two decades at the helm of the Seafood Producers Association

The chief executive of the Seafood Producers Association describes his nearly 20 years in the post as “the honor of a lifetime”.

Derek Butler is moving on to take on a new professional challenge at the end of the month.

Butler is most proud of advancing the sustainability program in the local manufacturing industry.

He says they have certified the first MSE Marine Stewardship Council Fishery in Canada and the first on the East Coast of North America.
