The Judicial Commission of the House of Representatives will hold an extraordinary session on Thursday to prepare a comprehensive package on arms control.

Democrats are currently pushing through a series of eight bills aimed at suppressing gun ownership, collectively called the “Protect Our Children Act,” Fox News reported.

The bills contain proposals to raise the minimum age for the purchase of semi-automatic weapons from 18 to 21 years, a ban on “high-capacity cartridges”, a register of jacks and more.

The chamber will vote on some form of package when they return to the session next week.

The House of Representatives package is expected to go nowhere in the Senate and is seen as a rather showy vote, as a bipartisan group of senators tries to agree on a bill that could pass in the Senate.

The gun control package is a direct response to the massacre in Uwalde, Texas – the shooting at an elementary school last week that killed 19 children and two teachers.

The shooting of Uwalde came shortly after a massacre in Buffalo, New York.

18-year-old Peyton Hendron invited about 30 people to a chat room dedicated to racism to read his wanderings about white supremacy and then showed them his plans less than an hour before going to Tops Supermarket and supposedly killed 10 blacksaccording to The Buffalo News.

Democrats have turned the shooting into an ignition point in the gun control debate, calling for immediate action to ban semi-automatic rifles and even pistols.

President Biden has faced a new reaction on Twitter to his comments on gun control legislation and 9mm ammunition on Remembrance Day.

Speaking to reporters outside the White House, Biden spoke about his efforts to work gun control legislation with Republicans in Congress after the deadly shooting at Uvalde School. While Biden acknowledged that his performance was limited, he suggested that 9mm bullets did not have a “rational basis” to use for self-defense.

“The .22 caliber bullet will get stuck in the lungs and we can get it out. A 9 mm bullet blows the lungs out of the body. The idea of a high-caliber weapon simply has no rational basis from the point of view of self-government. protection, hunting, “Biden said.
