Huge crowds gathered north and south of the River Tyne on Sunday afternoon to see the stunning cruise ship Cunard Queen Victoria set sail.
The 294-meter-long cruise ship docked at the port of Tyne for about two weeks while undergoing maintenance. At around 4 pm on April 24, the ship left the port and sailed on the Tyne River, while hundreds of people in the North and South Tyneside watched.
Crew members stood on deck and waved to those who showed up to see him leave. According to the schedule for sailing in the port of Tyne, Queen Victoria is heading to Belfast, but it is understood that the luxury ship will take off on its first voyage from Southampton on April 27.

The ship, which had sailed to the North Shields after the winter in Barbados, became a stunning place for the crowds who gathered to see it sail. Capable of carrying more than 2,000 passengers as well as 980 crew members, passengers on board have access to a full theater, ballroom, traditional pub, champagne bar and club with 270-degree sea views.
There is also a spa and gym, a swimming pool, a large sunbathing area and an amazing library with 6,000 books.
According to Travel Weekly, the ship was used in the winter to accommodate cruise passengers in Barbados who tested positive for Covid-19 because they were not allowed to isolate themselves on hotels on the island.
Passengers joining Cunard Queen Victoria as they depart from Southampton on their Baltic Explorer trip next week will enjoy a 16-day cruise around Copenhagen, costing around £ 2,999 per person.
