Instagram is releasing improved drum labels to increase creator recognition

Instagram announced today Enhanced Tags on Reels, which is a way to make it easier for creators to get credit for their work. Enhanced Tags for Feed was released in March, but is now available for Reels.

This is important because the right creative credit and recognition are a starting point for discovery, new opportunities and economic empowerment. This is especially important as more creators collaborate with each other.

“Until now, the Instagram community has come together to support creators and find alternative ways to credit each other, such as tagging each other in captions and photos, so we are now introducing this feature into our product,” Instagram said in a statement.

Improved tags allow the self-assigned category of the creator’s user profile in their professional accounts to appear in their human tag so that people can share and see the creator’s specific contribution to a photo or video post.

“And as Reels continues to be the biggest contributor to Instagram’s engagement, we’re excited to extend the improved tags to Reels. Simply put – if you are a make-up artist, songwriter or other significant contributor to a publication, your contribution will be more visible in the publication or Reel, “said the company.
