Instagram is testing a new template for editing drums

Instagram is testing a new tool called Templates that will allow users to replicate existing video formats with their own Reels images and videos, according to Business Insider. The feature, currently only available to a small group of creators, mimics the nature of TikTok templates, allowing creators to upload their own images in a predefined format.

“We are always working on new ways to make reels easier to create. We are testing your ability to make a reel using an existing template from another reel, “a Meta spokesman confirmed in an email to TechCrunch.

Developer Alessandro Paluzzi earlier unveiled a version of the upcoming feature in the app’s code earlier this year, before Joseph Hill, a DC-based and influential man, tweeted about the feature in March.

“One thing I was looking for, especially with Instagram Reels, was something that resembled TikTok’s audio sync, where the videos fit perfectly to the beat of the music,” Hill told Business Insider. She added that before using the new tool, she usually finds tutorials to guide her through arranging videos with sound.

The new feature seems to be an effort to encourage users to create videos directly in the Instagram app, as opposed to uploading pre-made content from TikTok.
