The Warriors defeated the Grizzlies on Saturday 142-112 and led 2-1 in a series. However, the tension that arose in the game continued after the last horn.
Ja Morant had to leave the game with a knee injury, which he apparently received when Warriors guard Jordan Poole caught Morant’s knee as he went for the ball. After the match, Morant twitter then deleted a tweet showing that he was not happy with the Warriors.
“I broke the code,” he tweeted.
The “code” is a reference to Steve Kerr’s reaction to Dylan Brooks’ heavy foul on Gary Peyton II in Game 2. After that game, Kerr said Brooks “broke the code” by fouling Peyton in the air, something Kerr thinks is dirty play.
Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins addressed Morant’s game at his post-match press conference and he believes that catching Poole is what exacerbated Morant’s injury.
“We just watched the replay,” Jenkins told Om Yangmisuk of ESPN. “He was going after a dribble and Jordan Poole actually grabbed his knee and pulled him, which caused anything to happen, so I’ll actually be very curious what happens next.

However, Jenkins stopped saying he thought it was intentional.
“I don’t know what’s going through your head. No, I didn’t say it happened on purpose. I said the play happened, “he said. “There was a snatch. I’m just curious what happened.”
When Poole was asked about what happened, he said it was just a “basketball game” and would never intentionally try to hurt another player.
“I mean, obviously, you don’t want to see anyone hurt. I’m not even that type of player. I respect everyone, “he said.” I hope he gets better and, you know, we can see him there next game. I don’t even play that real. That’s not my type [of] game. “
After the weekend, the Warriors and Grizzlies will resume their series in San Francisco on Monday night, although it is too early to say what Morant’s status is for this game.
