Jamie Carragher paid tribute to Sadio Mane as he prepares to join Bayern Munich, describing his outgoing striker as a true Liverpool legend.
Manet is ready to lift the curtain on his career in the “reds” after a stunning six-year period in Merseyside. And his exit came a step closer on Friday after Bayern struck a £ 35.1 million deal with Liverpool for his services. The 30-year-old has hinted that he wants to look for a new challenge elsewhere before last month’s Champions League final.
Bayern moved quickly to the Senegalese star, who scored 120 goals in 269 games during his stay with Jurgen Klopp. The former Southampton star was one of Klopp’s first additions and became one of the deadliest strikers in the Premier League under the German – and Carragher was quick to praise the rising star of the “reds” on social media.
Liverpool bosses have rejected Sadio Mane’s request, which led to the transfer of Bayern Munich for 35.1 million pounds Sadio Mane left Liverpool after the Reds reached an agreement for 35.1 million pounds with Bayern Munich
The former Liverpool supporter wrote on Twitter: “My favorite @LFC player of this era, Sadio Mane, finally leaves high efficiency with low maintenance and is never injured! Trophies and goals abound, a true Liverpool legend. Thank you, Sadio. “
Ahead of the shocking announcement Friday, Carragher admitted it was “sad” to see Liverpool’s deadly attacking trio finally disintegrate earlier this month. Carragher told Sky Sports: “Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp usually gets the right choice when they spend big money. The figures we are talking about – they spent on the goalkeeper and Van Dyke and made a huge difference.
“Liverpool now need to renew their front line due to the age of these three front lines, which have been absolutely fantastic for the last four or five years for Liverpool.

“It’s sad to see that it’s falling apart in some way, but it had to end sooner or later, and since Sadio Mane looked like he was going to move on, Liverpool had to do something and he’s the one they identified.”
During his time at the club, Manet won the Premier League title, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the League Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the World Club Championship, while also in the teams that lost two European Cup finals.
The Reds have already moved to replace Manet after signing a deal with Benfica Darwin Nunes earlier this week. Nunes has joined the Reds in a deal that could reach a club record of £ 85 million after scoring an incredible 26 goals in 28 league games for Benfica last season.
