The fourth day of testimony in the defamation case of Johnny Depp against his ex-wife Amber Heard ended in Virginia.
Proceedings Monday began with the second half of a pre-recorded video testimony from Dr. David Cyprus, who is treating the couple during their marriage and is still treating Depp for addiction.
Dr Cyprus testified that he had never witnessed abuse between the couple, but recalled treating Depp’s severed finger after an incident in March 2015 in which the actor later claimed that Hurd had thrown away bottles of vodka. on him.
The lawsuit focuses on Depp’s allegation that Hurd slandered him, suggesting that he abused her in a column in 2018. Although she did not name him, lawyers claim that her allegations made it difficult for the actor to get roles in movies.
He is seeking $ 50 million (£ 38.2 million) in damages during a trial in Fairfax County Court. Hurd filed a counterclaim against Depp for annoyance.
Earlier, Depp lost a defamation lawsuit in Britain against The Sun over the same article by Hurd.

The security guard describes a change in Depp and Hurd’s relationship
Mr Beth told the court that Depp and Hurd’s relationship had been very happy in the beginning, but had become fierce over time.
He said he had witnessed an increase in disputes between the couple and said those incidents were more frequent when Hurd drank.
At one point, he said he told Hurd, “This can’t go on – you’re either going to kill each other or you’re in jail.”

Mr Beth confirmed that he had seen Depp drink alcohol, adding: “He handles alcohol much better than I do.”
He called the actor “very nice” and said he was entering “Jack Sparrow mode” when he was drinking.
Mr Beth said he had never witnessed Depp use drugs, but that he was aware of the actor’s story of substance abuse.
Asked about Hurd, Mr Beth said he had a positive impression on their first meeting.
