Jurgen Klopp called up the pair of Everton’s Jordan Pickford and Anthony Gordon after the Merseyside derby and dispelled the myths about Liverpool about their upcoming matches.
Liverpool have returned the pressure on the leader in the Man City league after beating Everton in the fierce derby on Merseyside. The Reds were disappointed at every turn in the first half, in which Everton showed a display that Diego Simeone would be proud of.
With the results still at a standstill for about an hour, Klopp shuffled his deck when he brought Luis Diaz and Divok Origi into the mix.
This double change would be an inspiring call when Origi backed Mohamed Salah with his first touch before the Egyptian assisted Andy Robertson’s discoverer.
Origi then drew late as he headed home with Luis Diaz’s wrong but acrobatic kick.

Speaking to the BBC after the match, Klopp analyzed where Liverpool went wrong in the first half when they played right in the hands of Everton.
The German also called Jordan Pickford for taking “five minutes” of his watch each time he took a goal.
“We didn’t react well” – Klopp
“Thank God the game has two halves,” Klopp admitted.
“We didn’t play very well in the first half. They did awkwardly, but we didn’t go behind the last line. We didn’t have enough traffic.
“We were not fast enough. We passed the ball to the area where there were nine players. In the second half we were much more direct and created a lot more problems for them. The goals were wonderful.
“It simply came to our notice then [Everton’s delaying and defensive tactics] but we did not react well. It’s hard. Every ball Pickford has takes him five minutes, so we couldn’t get the rhythm you need to break a low block. We expected them to do it.
“The number of victories we have had in recent months is insane. You must work. The boys did it again. I’m really happy.
“We stayed really cool and calm. The changes helped, Fresh players, different formation. This made it difficult for the opposition. We won 2-0, everything is fine. “
Anthony Gordon’s penalty appeal
Everton winger Anthony Gordon has twice seen appeals for a penalty.
The first one saw it mapped for simulation after rolling over Nabi Keita’s leg. The second was more controversial after falling to the ground under the pressure of Joel Matip, the two working at maximum speed.
Regarding the lawsuit for the penalty, Klopp claims that Gordon was lucky not to be fired for two simulation actions.
He continued: “This [the Matip challenge] there was clearly no penalty. He is really good, but he is lucky not to get a second yellow. The first was not a penalty, and the second was not.
Klopp then apologized in advance when he admitted that the theory that Liverpool would go through the rest of his games was a myth. Instead, Klopp expects more worn out nerves and increased tension in the upcoming list of Reds matches.
“If anyone thinks we’re going through these games, I can apologize, it won’t happen,” Klopp added.
“If we can create an atmosphere like today, it’s hard to deal with us in 95 minutes.
