Jürgen Klopp believes that Liverpool is ready to take the “next steps” in the evolution of his team, as he described in detail the process in setting transfer goals.
The Reds have been steadily changing over the past two years, with Diogo Hota, Thiago Alcantara, Ibrahima Conate and Luis Diaz playing important roles in the ongoing quest for an unprecedented quadruple.
Fulham attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho is ready to become the latest addition in the coming weeks, while the Reds are already expecting long-term reinforcements with midfielder Aurelian Chuameni of Monaco and Borussia Dortmund youth judo Jude Bellingham.

And Klopp, who joined his assistants Pep Linders and Peter Kravets this week, extending his commitment to Anfield until 2026, is convinced that Liverpool are in a “good time” to compete for their chosen transfer goals.
“I can’t remember fighting to attract the players we wanted to come in,” said the Reds boss, who is with Newcastle United in the Premier League’s early start on Saturday. “I think Philippe (Coutinho) was probably the last one (we lost), but it can always happen. At the moment the boys are playing really good football and the club is in a good place.
“We have had many difficulties in the past for various reasons, but the club is in a good moment. This is another message that we do not want to stay here. We want to use it as a basis for the next steps. We have to. And this is what we are trying to do.
“How do we do that?” Outwardly, I know it’s always “sign it, sign it, sign it”, but we’ve always been a little different, we tried it differently while (still) signing players, obviously.
“I can’t remember the last time we had a hard time talking to a player. That doesn’t mean everyone’s coming, but it wasn’t that we weren’t sexy enough or shiny enough. It was just another plan from the other club onwards his position for him, maybe a more comfortable situation, the position is open there, but here he has to fight (for his position), things like that, but it wasn’t because the club not shiny enough. “
The upcoming transfer window will be the first in several years without the participation of Michael Edwards, who will soon be officially succeeded by Julian Ward as Liverpool’s sporting director.
However, Klopp is accustomed to working with the recruitment team and within the financial limits imposed by Fenway Sports Group owners, who forced the Reds to be creative when fighting players such as the Manchester City-United duo and, until recently, Chelsea.

“We must!” said the red boss. “You may remember from the first press conference when I was asked about the transfer committee, it was the first time I met people and they told me maybe to say this and that … (laughs).
So I really thought, “What was the problem with the transfer committee?” And I just had to understand the word. We just sit a few smart people together and talk about transfers, whether we can do it or not, one says “the money is too much”, the other says “I have information about his character” and one says “forget all this, I want it because it’s so good”.
“What I understand was the transfer committee – people working in the same direction. We need to be more economical (than other teams) because there are no endless resources. That’s right and that’s good too.”
Klopp added: “Players we wanted but didn’t always get (were) for a variety of reasons. Sometimes money was the reason, and then we thought we didn’t want to do it, not that we couldn’t do it, not that it was too much.
“The main thing you do to make a transfer is that you think so much about it – will the player fit in, will they help us, can we help the player take the next step and will the player help us make the next one? step? This is the main thing you have to arrange, sometimes it doesn’t work, and sometimes it works, and then the player can make an impact. That’s what we’ve been trying to do, and we’ll keep trying to do it. “
Liverpool may return to the Premier League summit with a positive result in St. James Park to put pressure on the leaders of Manchester City, who are threatened with the relegation of Leeds United in the late start of the day.
Klopp is expected to make changes, with Joel Matip, Diogo Hota and Nabi Keita among those pushing for the withdrawal. Costas Tsimikas is available after illness, but Curtis Jones remains in doubt and Roberto Firmino is still out.
