Prince William and Kate Middleton have joined Hollywood star Tom Cruise for the British premiere of Top Gun: Maverick in London, which is being held as a performance of the Royal Film in support of charity

The glamorous Duchess of Cambridge was amazed as she and Prince William attended the royal premiere of Top Gun: Maverick tonight.
The royal couple joined the star of the movie Tom Cruise on the red carpet for the event in London, which takes place as a Royal Film Show.
The fundraising event is held in support of The Film and TV Charity, which supports people working behind the scenes in the UK screen sector.
Kate wore a gorgeous black-and-white open-shoulder dress by Roland Mouret, which she paired with star earrings and wore her hair right behind her ears.
She and William, who wore Crocket & Jones tuxedos and moccasins with an “F-18” on them as a fighter-controlled fighter in the film, spoke with the film’s cast before going to see a special screening of it. as Cruz helps Kate climb a few steps in her heels.

Maverick, who has so far received rave reviews from critics, saw Hollywood star Cruz reprise his role as US Navy pilot Pete Mitchell and came out 36 years after the 1986 original.
Other stars include Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Monica Barbaro, Val Kilmer, John Ham and Glen Powell.
And speaking before they arrived, Cruz spoke of his admiration for William. He said: “We have a lot in common. We both love England, we both love pilots, we both love to fly.”

The actor also expressed his joy at returning to the red carpet, saying: “I love what I do, I have always liked it and now I enjoy it even more.
“Especially after the last few years, just having an event like this is exceptional.

The film was originally scheduled for release in July 2019, but was repeatedly postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier this month, Cruz made a dramatic appearance at the film’s US premiere, landing a helicopter on an aircraft carrier in San Diego, California.
And on Sunday, during an event marking the Queen’s platinum anniversary, he expressed a desire to land a helicopter in Trafalgar Square.

Originally called the Royal Command Film Performance, the first Royal Film Performance took place at Leicester Square’s Empire Cinema in 1946 and was attended by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, as well as Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret.
The film screened was A Matter of Life and Death starring David Niven.
The latest performance included a screening of an epic from World War I, 1917, directed by Sir Sam Mendes, and took place in 2019 at the Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square in the presence of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.
Paramount Pictures will release Top Gun: Maverick in the UK and Ireland on May 27.
