Katie Kenyon: Date set for trial of man accused of killing missing two mother | United Kingdom news

A trial date has been set for the man accused of killing Katie Kenyon, a mother of two who has been missing since last Friday.

Andrew Burfield, 50, appeared via video link from HMP Preston for a brief hearing on the murder of the 33-year-old man.

Mrs. Kenyon disappeared after being seen getting into a van in Burnley, Lancashire.

Burfield of Todmorden Road, Burnley, spoke only to confirm his identity during a seven-minute hearing at Preston Crown Court.

Prosecutor Emma Kehou told the court that the body of the alleged murder victim has not yet been found.

Judge Simon Medland QC told the defendant: “Then the trial is on November 14 this year. You are in custody.”

Ms. Kenyon was reported missing after she was last seen at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

A woman matching her description left for Burnley that morning, traveling about 27 miles in a silver van Ford Transit to the Bolton-by-Bowland area of ​​northern Lancashire.

More than 60 detectives from four police forces searched the Gisborne Forest in the Ribble Valley in search of Ms. Kenyon.

The hunt involved police and firefighters, dog teams, horse police, mountain rescue volunteers and drones.

Investigators said Tuesday they believed Ms. Kenyon was dead.

Lancashire police said on Thursday that officers were giving priority to a certain area in the forest for additional search and forensic investigation due to information provided by a member of the public.

They said the search could take several days.
