A man accused of killing Paddyham’s mother, Katie Kenyon, has appeared in Preston court for the first time as police continue to search for the body.
Andrew Burfield spoke only to confirm his name and that he understood the trial during the eight-minute hearing this morning (April 29).
Katie, a 33-year-old mother of two, has not been seen since last Friday, when police believe she boarded a van and was traveling to the Bolton area near Bowland. Burfield of Todmordon Road, Burnley, is accused of her murder.

The 50-year-old man, who appeared in a video call, has not yet pleaded guilty to murder. Judge Medland QC set a date for Burfield to return to court on August 22 for a plea hearing and preparation for the trial.
The trial will take place on November 14, 2022. Burfield is in custody until the next court hearing.

Officers continue to comb the Gisborne Forest area, assisted by colleagues from North Wales and Merseyside as they search for Katie.
