Kendrick Lamar has finally returned with his new song “The Heart Part 5”.
K. Dot missed the track on Sunday night (May 8) at 8:00 EST. This is his first solo collaboration since 2018, when he released the accompanying soundtrack to the film Black Panther.
Not only is this Kendrick Lamar’s first piece of music in a while, the new track comes days before his long-awaited new album Mr. Morale & The Big Stepperswhich is due out this Friday, May 13th.
Before today’s new sounds and features of Kendrick with Keem in 2021, he was in a rather extensive musical break, as his last solo album, DAMN., Arrived in 2017. It is likely that this new record will appear in the latest Top Dawg Entertainment of Kendrick Lamar’s album, which was released last summer. About six months ago, Kendrick revealed that he would spread his wings and leave the TDE nest.
In a written letter shared on social media, the former XXL freshman from 2011 wrote: “While producing my latest TDE album, I am glad to have been part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The struggles. Success. And most important is the Brotherhood. May the Almighty continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for sincere creators. As long as I continue to follow the calling of my life. “
TDE CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith has signed the news of the end of Kendrick’s winning tour after nearly two decades on the label.
