Lancashire vs. Gloucestershire, Surrey vs. Somerset: County Cricket – Live! | Sports

Adam Rossington has just made a brilliant impression of a man who woke up, went downstairs to the kitchen and immediately stepped into a pile of dog feces after trying to fire half a volley from Liam Norwell (who replaced the OHD at the end of the pavilion) and I saw him fly straight into the hands of the cover. Essex, who won the throw remember, are 107 for five and are in danger of wasting that advantage. All eyes are on Tom Westley, who is undefeated at 45 and now has Adam Witter as his company.

2:40 p.m. BST 2:40 p.m.

Somerset, 107-2, are uncharacteristically stoic. Abell grinding ball 93 34; Bunton is a little more confident with two limits in his 11 outs. Joverton, who played on his old team, caught Renshaw for 48. Meanwhile, Essex is 108-6.

2:35 PM BST 2:35 PM

In The County Ground, more quick shots for Malan (64) and Brooke (63 did not come out). All four doors that will fall went to Golden Gareg Berg. York 161-4.

Compton is out of shock in Canterbury; where Kent is 120-3. He played 103 balls for his 27. Bell-Drummond still has 81. Two goals for Barker, one for Abbas.

Domino time in OT, as last week’s centurion James Bracey seems to be playing the wrong line of George Balderson. Gloucs 133-3.

2:30 p.m. BST 2:30 p.m.

Let’s jump carefully between the Division One dandelions.

Gloucs at the top 127-1: good terrain, but slightly wayward from Division 1 in the Bowling A-team. And as I write this, Sakib, with a headband, caught Harris from Phil Salt for 67. Gloucs 131-2

… and Hannon-Dalby gives him both barrels now, the second ball of his next ball, when he sees Matt Crichley play a little quietly outside and lag behind. Essex 102 for four now

Afternoon from Edgbados, where 80 minutes of hard work by Tom Westley and Dan Lawrence on both sides of the lunch was over. Lawrence is the man to give 30, Oliver Hannon-Dalby pushes away from the stump, seeing a cry for lbw drop in height and then become a little fuller with a ball that spins, hits the inside edge and shakes its wooden parts . Essex has just scored over three figures to reach 102 in three.

2:14 PM BST 2:14 PM

An animated action holiday by Hassan Ali, who touches the ground and then rises with both hands up, while Croft catches Chris Dent in a second catch in a second slip for 52. Finally a breakthrough. Gloucs 119-1.

2:04 p.m. BST 2:04 p.m.

A wonderful little drive led Harris to an invincible 52, joining Dent at 51. Gloucestershire 113-0. Easy to pick.

This amuses me

a little important reading for lunch, I ranked a tweet announcing the composition of each county from the best to the worst

1:53 PM BST 1:53 PM

A pleasant tour reveals the hot sun, but strong winds, sandwiches in silver foil and many players who went up on the field and stared intently at the square.

I missed Dent to be dropped at 46 by Luke Wales in the first slip, at shoulder height, by Hassan Ali.

1:18 PM BST 1:18 PM

Lancs TV shows a soft focus interview with Paul Alot, all pastels and scattered pillows.

1:09 PM BST 1:09 PM

And since Gloucestershire is the only county that hasn’t lost a single door against Lancey’s mighty arsenal of Anderson, Mahmoud, Hassan Ali and Parks, it’s time for lunch.

Three doors down New Road, where Tom Haynes, writing his name as captain of the county with the heaviest workload, fired Pollock for 77 and Libby for 11. Burroughs caught Haynes for 2 and it was a good morning reflection from Sussex. Works 111-3.

On Chester-le-Street, Peterson (Keegan) beats Pattinson (James), Patterson (Dane) and Patterson-White (Liam). Durham 81-1.

Unfortunately, there are no cakes for The Oval’s spicy hacks, but we have a house full of alternative milks at our hot drink station, with soy, oats, coconut, almonds and cows. On the pitch, Matt Renshaw started, uh, milking Surrey’s bowlers, scoring six runs in one Sam Quran over, as many as there were from the previous 10 overs combined, quickly followed by a border against Craig Overton and scoring 11 of his first 60 supplies since then he won 10 out of 10.
