A Ukrainian delegation warned US officials in Washington this week that security aid packages were not arriving quickly enough in the besieged country, a call that comes amid Western security claims that the Kremlin will soon step up its military campaign.
“A six-year-old boy who visits his mother’s grave in his backyard does not want to hear about the bureaucracy as an excuse for not supplying weapons to Ukraine,” said Daria Kalenyuk, who runs Ukraine’s Center for Anti-Corruption, a national organization that supports Ukraine. parliament and the prosecution.
“This is an extraordinary situation in which emergency measures must be taken. Raise your bureaucracy, lift it now. The president of the United States has enormous power, Congress has enormous power. We know it is possible,” she added.
Earlier in the week, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba also called on NATO allies to catalyze the fulfillment of their arms commitments.
“Either you are helping us now and I am talking about days, not weeks, or your help will come too late,” Kuleba told reporters at NATO headquarters on April 7.

Russia has reportedly appointed a new battlefield commander to oversee the brutal attacks in Syria
Russia has reportedly appointed a new commander to monitor its war against Ukraine, according to a US official who spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
Russia has now turned to one of its most experienced military officers, General Alexander Dvornikov, the official told the AP.
Referring to reports, NBC’s Molly Hunter explained in Sunday’s “Meet the Press” with Chuck Todd that the 60-year-old general has attempted brutality against civilians in Syria and is “clearly one of Putin’s favorites.”
“What we know is that he is the one who called for many of the air strikes and is accused of carrying out many of the air strikes on apartment buildings in Syria, on hospitals, accused of atrocities, in pursuing Russia’s policy. for the scorched earth, ”Hunter said.
“This really fills the power vacuum that Russia obviously lacked a key commander on the battlefield,” she added. “And that comes when this change is focused on the eastern part of the country.

A small number of Ukrainian troops left the United States today after receiving weeks of training side by side with US troops.
Ukrainian troops participated in a pre-scheduled training at the Naval School of Training and Technical Training for Small Crafts, a program run by the US Special Operations Command in Biloxi, Mississippi, when Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.
Ukrainians received training on patrol ship operations and communication systems, as well as further improved tactical training on systems that the United States recently agreed to provide to Ukraine, including Switchblade drones.
Switchblades, called “kamikaze” drones, are equipped with cameras, navigation systems and guided explosives. Weapons can be programmed to hit targets that are miles away automatically, or they can rotate over the target until they are engaged by a strike operator.
The deployment of Switchblades in the battle of Ukraine may be the most significant use of weapons in battle, as it is unclear how often the U.S. military has used killer drones on the battlefield.

Austrian President Nehamer says he plans to meet with Putin in Moscow
Austrian Chancellor Karl Nechamer said on Twitter that he planned to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Monday.
This will be the first face-to-face meeting between Putin and the leader of the European Union since Russia invaded Ukraine in late February.
“Tomorrow I will meet with Vladimir Putin in Moscow,” Nehamer wrote. “We are militarily neutral, but [have] clear position on the Russian aggression war against #Ukraine. You have to stop! There is a need for humanitarian corridors, a ceasefire and a full investigation into war crimes. “
Nehamer added that he had informed other European “partners” about his visit, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Charles Michel, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and Ukrainian President Zelensky.
This came after Nehamer visited Ukraine and met with Zelensky on Saturday.
Austria provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine during the war. Nehamer, a conservative, said he wanted to show his support for Zelenski.

The White House says President Biden wants India to oppose the war
The White House has said President Joe Biden plans to pressure Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take a tougher stance on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The two will meet virtually on Monday, according to spokeswoman Jen Psaki, to discuss co-operation on a number of issues, including ending the Covid-19 pandemic, tackling the climate crisis and strengthening the global economy.
India’s neutral stance on the war in Ukraine has raised concerns about Washington, while winning praise from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. He recently applauded India for not assessing “the situation as a whole, not just one-sidedly.”
India has also recently acquired advanced Russian air defense systems, a move that could theoretically lead to US sanctions.
In a statement issued Sunday, Psaki said Biden would speak at the meeting about how Russia’s war against Ukraine destabilizes global food supplies and commodity markets. She said Biden would also address the need to strengthen the global economy while “maintaining a free, open, rule-based international order to strengthen security, democracy and prosperity”.

Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, told CNN “The state of the Union” that the European Union “needs to do more” for Ukraine as it fights Russia, including providing military supplies and potentially imposing additional sanctions.
“We need to deliver weapons, weapons so that the Ukrainian people can defend themselves. This is really urgent right now. Much has been done, but more needs to be done. “We need to support refugees in Ukraine, but it is also very important that we need financial support from Ukraine,” she said.
Von der Layen visited Bucha last week to witness the consequences of the Russian invasion first hand.

Zelensky says Ukraine’s survival depends on more support from the United States
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky told 60 Minutes that he doubts whether the United States will comply with his request for supplies and weapons for the next phase of the war against Russia, according to a preliminary review of the interview published by CBS.
“It all depends on how quickly the United States helps us. “Honestly, whether we will be able to survive depends on that,” Zelenski said. “I have 100% confidence in our people and in our armed forces, but unfortunately I do not have the confidence that we will get everything we need.”
