“Little Kids and Tiaras” star Kylia Posey has reportedly died of suicide.
Posey’s family revealed the tragic cause of death in a statement to TMZ on Tuesday – a day after the news broke, the 16-year-old died.
“Although she was a complete teenager with a bright future ahead of her, unfortunately in a quick moment she made a hasty decision to end her earthly life,” the family told the paper.
Posey’s mother, Marcy Posey Gutterman, initially shared the heartbreaking news of the teenager’s death in a Facebook post Monday night.
“I have no words or thoughts. A beautiful girl is gone, “she wrote. “Please give us privacy while we mourn the loss of Kaylia. My baby forever. “
Gutterman posted photos of Posey, who attended the ball just days before her death.
Posey was a young star in the reality TV series TLC, which ran from 2009 to 2013 and involved families preparing their children to compete in beauty pageants. She became a popular GIF when her evil smile went viral.
In January, Posey announced on Instagram that she was preparing to compete as Miss Washington Teen USA in February.
