Witness says he saw a man “trying to hide” while a police helicopter circled over him
James Hutchinson, 22, saw a man fleeing and was apparently trying to find a hiding place just as armed police officers came into view.
James was on Hartwell Road when he heard a helicopter and then saw a bald white man running.
“He entered a garden and ran across the road. We saw five or six armed policemen coming around the corner asking where he had gone.
“Ten minutes later on Hyde Park Road, it looked like the police were bypassing someone near the medical center.”
James said the man looked as if he were trying to find a hiding place.
“He was looking for a place to hide. He saw a passage and just ran away.
James added: “This is not the best area. Sometimes it’s rough.”
