58 mins: Henderson had an ineffective match by his own high standards, but he helped push his country forward. His attempt to cross deflected a huge diversion from Pervis Estupinan, crossed Ruli and headed for Villarreal’s goal. This turned into Estupinan’s own goal, but it must be said that there was a queue of Liverpool players waiting to cross if the Ecuadorian had not stretched his leg.
57 min: Yes, it was. Manet’s goal survives after a VAR check by Tomasz Kwiatkowski and Liverpool are two goals for good. This is his 20th of the season, the sixth in his last seven appearances.

52 min: From the central position Alexander-Arnold scored a beautiful ball in the penalty area of Villarreal for Luis Diaz. It does not connect properly to the head and Roley gathers comfortably.
50 mins: Fabinho breaks the ball from seven yards into a Liverpool corner, but his “goal” is ruled out offside. Virgil van Dyke was offside in the build-up when Sadio Mane headed the outsinger back into the mixer.

25 mins: A heavy touch from Luis Diaz, who was trying to kill Trent Alexander-Arnold near the finish line, slides wide. Goal kick for Villarreal.
