Liverpool are seeking to speed up negotiations to extend Jurgen Klopp’s contract after he indicated he would be ready to stay at Anfield after 2024.
Mike Gordon, president of Liverpool’s Fenway Sports Group (FSG), flew from the United States to England for the Champions League semi-final against Villarreal on Wednesday, with one of his priorities being to continue discussions on a new deal with the manager.
Klopp’s agent, Mark Kosike, was also at Anfield, sitting a few places away from Gordon during the 2-0 victory in the first leg, which boosted Liverpool’s hopes of reaching a third Champions League final in four years.
