A large fire has broken out in an apartment building in south-east London, with more than 100 firefighters battling the blaze.
It was first reported at 1 p.m., but 20 fire trucks and 120 crews remained at the scene in Creek Road, Deptford more than five hours later.
Firefighters in London said 13 people had been evacuated from the building and said there were no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
LFB station commander Ian Smith said: “This is an intense fire on the roof of the building and fire crews are working hard in challenging conditions.
“There is a lot of smoke from the incident and we would ask the locals to close their doors and windows.”
Residents told the Press Association that construction work was underway in the block at the time, with skeletons visible around the building’s walls.
