M5 Live Traffic: The highway stopped due to a huge truck fire near Clevedon

There are delays on the M5 this afternoon after Weston’s truck burst into flames. The lanes remain closed on the north lane near Clevedon.

The accident happened shortly before 13.30 at the intersection 20 B3133 Ettlingen Way. There is currently slow traffic due to the fire and delays of more than an hour.

The traffic monitoring site Inrix said earlier today: “All traffic has been temporarily suspended and stopped due to a fire on a M5 Northbound vehicle on the J20 B3133 Ettlingen Way (Clevedon). The traffic was stopped from 13:25. “

Nearly three hours later, at 4 p.m., two lanes remained closed on the north lane, with severe traffic delays on the M5 near Clevedon. There were traffic jams to J21, for Weston-super-Mare, and long queues on the A370 through Congresbury due to congested traffic.

Travel time on the M5 along the J20, to the B3133 and the Ettlingen Way is currently one hour and five minutes. This means that the road is closed until 2.30 pm, and the traffic to the south is also delayed earlier today.
