Cristiano Ronaldo shared his photo with his new baby girl after an emotional week for the Manchester United star.
Ronaldo and his wife Georgina Rodriguez announced the sad death of their newborn son on Monday. The couple was expecting twins, and fortunately their baby girl was born safely.
The news sparked reports of condolences, with the 37-year-old missing United’s game against Liverpool on Tuesday night. Among the fans, Anfield fans joined in the one-minute applause in the seventh minute of the match.

After thanking fans for their gesture, Ronaldo shared a photo with his family on Instagram on Thursday. The photo shows United’s ace holding his new daughter and smiling at Rodriguez as they return home.
“Home, sweet home,” Ronaldo wrote with the image. “Gio and our little girl are finally with us. We want to thank everyone for their kind words and gestures. Your support is very important and we all felt the love and respect you feel for our family. Now is the time to be grateful for the life we have just accepted into this world. ”
Ronaldo returned to training with United on Wednesday after missing Tuesday’s loss to Liverpool and was pictured with his team-mates in Carrington on Thursday. The striker is expected to return in the fight for Saturday’s clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
