Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City players, who have won the title, will embark on a victory parade around the city at 18:00, after winning another crown in the Premier League in the most dramatic circumstances.
After an exciting battle with second-placed Liverpool during a memorable campaign, it was City that reigned again with the kind assistance of some later heroic action by German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. He scored twice from the bench during last day’s trophy victory over Aston Villa after City were left 2-0.
This proved to be significant as the Reds – who also fell behind in their last game – overcame the Wolves at Anfield.
City overtook their title rivals by one point in their fourth such triumph in five seasons. Guardiola and his team had fun at night and will continue these festivities with an open-air bus parade – which will depart from Exchange Square at around 6 pm and end with a stage show at Beetham Tower.
