OPINION: Ten Haag clarified his plan for Van de Beck
It was never a big secret, but Manchester United have finally confirmed that Eric ten Haag will be their next permanent manager, as he proved to be their favorite choice after a thorough search.
During the trial, United sources reiterated that they kept their options open for the next appointment, although in reality it was always a matter of Ten Haag or Mauricio Pochettino, the only two viable candidates for the role. No matter who chooses United, there will always be an element of risk. Now the key is for United to stand behind their new man and ensure that he has the best chance of success when he officially takes the reins at the end of the season.
But while the 52-year-old’s role won’t start until the summer, he still has some initial work to do, as the club strives to put everything in place so he can start work as soon as he arrives.
