BOSTON – Boston ambulance crews have responded to a reported structural collapse at a construction site in South Boston.
Boston police say “many” people have been trapped after the floor collapsed.
The Boston EMS said that at 3:35 pm two people were taken to the hospital and a third person was taken care of on the spot, and that the teams were working to “remove” this worker.
“We have many units on stage for the structural collapse of the Edison Power Station building in South Boston. This remains an active incident with more details to follow, “according to a statement from EMS, published on social media.
This state of emergency is happening at 776 Summer Street in South Boston on the waterfront.
776 Summer Street is the site of the former L Street Station, which was a coal-fired power plant that operated for more than a century from 1898 until its decommissioning in 2006.
