Canadian “Danger!” Hall of Fame Matea Roach has already been leveled for the sixth longest series in the history of the television show.
She is tied with David Madden and Jason Zufranieri, who also won 19 games.
The 23-year-old’s earnings total $ 460,184 – the sixth largest draw in the show’s regular season.
Roach, who lives in Toronto and grew up in Halifax, also won a place in the show’s tournament of champions, which is set to air in the fall.
She holds the longest winning streak from a Canadian athlete.
Another victory would put her in 5th place.
She also won a place in the show’s Champions Tournament, which is set to air in the fall, and has the longest winning streak from a Canadian athlete.
Roach lives in Toronto, but she said on the show that she spent much of her childhood and adolescence in Halifax, and also lived in Calgary and Moncton, NB
Caitlin Hayes, a North Vancouver resident who competes against Roach in her 10th episode, said she was having fun watching her ex-rival’s impressive run.
“It’s really fun to watch her every night and cheer her up,” Hayes said. “She’s so good.”
Hayes already knew that Roach would be a great opponent when he took the Alex Trebeck stage in February.
The show shoots five episodes each day, and Hayes was in the studio the day before.
“So I sat there for about 10 hours and watched her play five games in a row. She won all five and she was so good,” Hayes said.
The next day, Hayes was called in to compete first. After a slow start, she was the only person to get the right clue about Final Jeopardy. Unfortunately, she failed to win because she didn’t bet enough – something her nine-year-old daughter didn’t let her forget.
She definitely keeps saying, “Mom had to gamble more.”
