Meeting officials who searched Bianca Williams’ car are accused of gross misconduct | News

The Sofia police remained challenging today with regard to their treatment of black athlete Bianca Williams, despite criticism from the independent oversight body and five officials who were told they were facing dismissal.

The athlete’s lawyer accused Met of a “culture of defense” after Sir Stephen House, the interim commissioner, refused to apologize for his firm defense of the officers after they were accused of gross misconduct.

Met limited his apologies to the suffering caused when Williams, a Team GB runner, and her partner Ricardo dos Santos, a Portuguese sprinter, were pulled out of their car in front of their baby and handcuffed.
