A mass fire in Florida has already been contained to 75 percent after firefighters battled the blaze until Saturday night after it engulfed 150 acres, officials said.
According to Charlotte County Fire Department, 10 acres of residential areas in Englewood have been affected as the blaze continues to burn in neighboring Myakka State Forest, about 50 miles north of Fort Myers, WINK reported.
The fire was 100 percent contained in residential areas, officials said.
There were no reports of injuries or damage to homes, although one was reportedly threatened earlier in the night.
One boat, two fences and two sheds were damaged, WINK reports.
By early Sunday morning, 75 percent of the fire had been contained, confirmed the Florida Forest Service, Myakka River District in a social media post. The agency said more updates would be provided later Sunday.
It is not clear what caused the fire, but in the days before the fire, local fire services banned all burns because the region was experiencing a “high” level of fire danger.
