Naga Manchetti made a very unfortunate mistake during Saturday morning’s BBC Breakfast when she confused two very famous men named Boris.

Tennis star Boris Becker was jailed on Friday afternoon after hiding £ 2.5m worth of assets and loans to avoid paying off debts.

The 54-year-old six-time Grand Slam champion has been found guilty of four counts under the Bankruptcy Act.

However, when discussing the news on Saturday morning, BBC Breakfast presenter Munchetty made a serious mistake by confusing him with Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Giving viewers up-to-date information on the headlines, the presenter began: “Three-time Wimbledon champion Boris Johnson has just spent his first night in prison.

“He was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for evading property to avoid paying debts.”

Her co-host, Ben Thompson, then told sports reporter Mike Bushell to get some more information about the situation.

Despite the omission, which happened only for a few moments on television, many viewers quickly realized the very pitiful mistake.

One of them shared on Twitter: “What a slip! The BBC’s TVNaga01 claims that Boris Johnson has just spent his first night in prison.

Or as Naga Manchetti just said in the BBC 0900 breakfast headlines, “Boris Johnson”….

So Naga Manchetti also said that Boris Johnson went to prison when he referred to Boris Becker. Is this Freud?

“Was this a Freudian sample of Naga Manchetti? Boris Johnson spends his night in prison” #GTTO, “someone else said.

A viewer added: “It didn’t help when Naga actually said at the BBC’s breakfast that Boris Johnson, not Becker, was in prison without correction.”

“So Naga Manchetti also said that Boris Johnson went to jail when he talked about Boris Becker. Is this Freud? shared another.

Munchetty continued and failed to correct the mistake before handing it over to Ben after the confusion.
