A 25-year-old man has been charged with murder after a man died after a battle in Northampton.
A group of men were spotted fighting in front of Cowper Street at around 12 noon on Saturday when 32-year-old Jack Bernie was knocked unconscious.
He was taken to hospital but died of his injuries on Monday.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and 25-year-old Mark Peter Dowling of Wellington Street, Northampton, has been charged with murder.
He will appear in Northampton Magistrates’ Court later today.
Two other men, aged 34 and 26, were arrested and released on bail pending further investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Adam Pendbury said: “This is a terribly sad incident that killed a young man with his whole life in front of him.
“We have specialists who support Jack’s family during this extremely difficult time and our thoughts remain with them.
“We have spoken to a number of witnesses in connection with Jack’s death, but I would still like to call on anyone who has witnessed this incident, with whom we have not yet spoken, to contact us.
