A man has died and another has been sent to hospital after a clash in the southeastern community of Calgary in Midnapur on Tuesday morning.

Police were called around 10:30 a.m. to report a fatal collision with two vehicles at the intersection of Midlake and Midpark Boulevard SE

According to police, a 20-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Camaro son is believed to have been stopped at a red light while traveling north on Midpark Boulevard. A black Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by a 79-year-old man, was traveling east on Midlake Boulevard when it crossed the concrete median dividing traffic north and south on Midpark Boulevard.

Hyundai then entered the northern lanes and struck the Camaro driver’s side, pushing the Camaro to the east as both vehicles crossed the sidewalk and broke through the back garden fence of a house in block 200 of Midpark Gardens.

The statement said the driver of the Camaro had been pronounced dead on the spot.

The Hyundai driver was taken to hospital in serious condition.

Speed ​​is being investigated as a possible factor in the crash.
