One killed and another injured after a shocking “double stab” on the streets of Ankouts

Paramedics and police raced through the city center on Wednesday night after a fatal “double stabbing” in Ankouts. As an air ambulance descended on them and the roar of the Etihad Stadium echoed in the distance, officers were greeted with ominous scenes on an otherwise quiet street in Ancots.

At around 6.30 pm, police confirmed that they had been called by paramedics for an incident that broke out on Pollard Street near the center of Manchester. Unfortunately, a man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other injured man, also in his 20s, is now being treated for leg injuries in hospital. A large cordon was immediately erected on Carruthers Street as dozens of police cars and ambulances were parked in front of the old Bank of England pub.

It was a sight that alarmed the locals, who told of the chaotic scenes that quickly emerged after the stabbing. An air ambulance had landed nearby, on a grassy area, as equipped paramedics rushed to the crime scene and officers hurried to block the area.

A tent was set up for evidence and investigations were carried out throughout the evening, with a number of forensic scientists present. Police are now continuing to gather vital information from the area and are appealing for more information from the public as investigations into the fatal incident continue.
